How do I set reminders for key dates or renewals?

When you upload information with an expiry or renewal date — like a passport, driving licence, or home insurance policy — Lyfeguard creates an automatic reminder for you. You’ll be notified in advance, so nothing important gets missed. These appear in the Reminders section, which you can access from the main Dashboard.

We’ve already set smart defaults based on the type of document — for example:

• Passport: Reminder 9 months before expiry

• Insurance policies: Reminder 30 days before renewal

If you’d prefer something different, you can easily edit the reminder date at any time. Just click into the reminder and choose a new date that works better for you.

Don’t need a reminder at all? No problem — you can also turn it off completely for any item.

🔄 Manual reminders (not tied to your added information) aren’t available yet, but this is a feature we’re actively developing.

For now, the best way to stay ahead is to include expiry or review dates when uploading key documents — Lyfeguard will take care of the rest.
